Open Level Yoga

Open to all - beginners and students with yoga experience. Clear the mind, strengthen the body and deepen your yoga practice with instructive classes focusing on a variety of hatha yoga poses, some flowing movement, breath and relaxation techniques.  Classes are geared toward the level of the individual students.  Holistic and enriching classes lasting 1hr and 15min.

Gentle Yoga

Slower pace, gentle & relaxing class.  More personalized modifications with props, if needed.  Great for beginners, seniors, moms-to-be, those with health issues or injury, or anyone looking for a slower paced, nourishing and relaxing class.  We'll focus on basic hatha yoga poses, building strength, flexibility and balance, and also incorporate some slow flowing sequences.  Recharge, restore and relax.  1 hour and 15 minutes.

Gentle/ Yoga Basics

This is a great class to start with if you're a beginner, and it's also enjoyable for anyone looking for a slower paced, instructive, nourishing, and relaxing class.  We'll focus on basic hatha yoga poses, building strength, flexibility and balance, incorporate some slow flowing sequences, and introduce a touch of meditation.  Learn the basics of yoga in a recharging, relaxing, peaceful environment.  1 hour and 15 minutes.

Open Level 40+

Our Wednesday 6pm Open Level class is especially inviting to students over age 40, although all ages are welcome.  This class is also welcoming to beginners.  Kathryn is a long time practitioner of yoga, and brings many years of life experience to her classes.  Our bodies may not want to do everything we did in our 20's, but we continue to grow as humans.  The later years can be the most joyful, exceptional and rewarding.  Clear the mind, strengthen the body, improve balance & flexibility.  Instructive classes focusing on a variety of hatha yoga poses, energizing flows, breath and relaxation techniques.  Classes are geared toward the level of the individual students.  Holistic and enriching classes lasting 1hr and 15min. 

Mindful Flow

Mindful Flow is an intermediate class with creative, slow flowing yoga sequences. Deepen your mind/body connection through mindful movement.  Explore creative transitions interwoven through slow building, thoughtful flowing sequences of yoga poses.  Experiment with challenging poses. Rejuvenate with a cool down of relaxing and restorative poses. Certified Yoga Instructor Bethany also has a BA degree in Dance.  She brings a graceful, creative, and energizing feel to her classes. Some yoga experience is encouraged for this class.

 

Hatha Flow

Hatha Flow is an intermediate class combining Hatha yoga with moving, flowing yoga sequences.  Portions of the class focus on alignment, and holding poses for several breaths.  This builds strength, balance and flexibility.  It also helps develop focus, deepen inner awareness & release stress. Classes also incorporate flowing sequences where we move from pose to pose, coordinating movement with breath.  Classes end with deep relaxation. This class may also include exploring and developing more challenging poses.  Certified Yoga Instructor Bethany also has a BA degree in Dance.  She brings a graceful, creative, and energizing feel to her classes.  Gain a rich experience of yoga with this 1 hr and 15 min class. Some prior yoga experience is encouraged for this class.

 

Meditation Basics

Beginning Wed April 10th, 7:30pm - 8pm. Learn and practice the basics of meditation. Learn basic breathing techniques,  visualizations, mindfulness, and meditation exercises that you can use in daily life.  Meditation can provide stress relief, ease anxiety, increase focus, improve general health & wellbeing, and leave you feeling happier in your life. Developing a regular habit of meditation enhances these benefits. Meditating with a group can be more effective than meditating alone. 

This is a new class, meeting Wedsnesdays from 7:30 - 8pm, except for the first Wed. of the month.  First Wedsnedays will be a longer class, focusing on traditational yogic meditation, from 7:30pm-8:30pm.  Beginners and more advanced meditatators are welcome 1st Wednesdays.   Meditation classes are by donation.  Suggested: $5 to $10, or use a punchcard.

Meditation - 1st Wednesdays

The first Wednesday of the month, our meditation class lasts a full hour, diving deeper into traditational yogic meditation.  Quieting the mind often leads to opening the heart and connecting with the inner self.  Learn to connect to a sense of peace, deeper awareness and inner joy.  Explore spiritual aspects of meditation. Classes are generally seated, and involve various yogic meditation practices such as chanting, mantra and guided and silent meditations. Yogic readings and talks may be included.  Chairs and blankets are available. We finish up with questions and discussion.  See our Meditation page for more info. Suggested donation $5 - $12.  Experienced meditators and beginners are welcome.  Other Wednesdays focus on Meditation Basics, with a 1/2 hour class more geared toward beginners.
