Yoga I

Yoga 1 is an enjoyable & safe way to learn and practice the fundamental postures of Hatha Yoga.  This is a great class for beginners, and also for those preferring an easier, more instructive & relaxing class. Gain strength, flexibility & balance that will extend beyond the physical level to all areas of your life. Use breath as a way to de-stress, calm yourself and energize.  Deepen focus and increase presence.  Some basic flows such as Sun Salutations are introduced.  Students are encouraged to learn and work at their own pace.  Gain a rich experience of yoga with this 1hr and 15 min class.  

Open Level Yoga

Open Level classes are open to students of all levels - beginners and students with some yoga experience. Clear the mind, strengthen the body and deepen your yoga practice with instructive classes focusing on a variety of hatha yoga poses, energizing vinyasa flows, breath and relaxation techniques.  Classes are geared toward the level of the individual students.  Holistic and enriching classes lasting 1hr and 15min. 

Gentle Yoga

Slower pace, gentle & relaxing class.  More personalized modifications with props, if needed.  Great for beginners, seniors, moms-to-be, those with health issues or injury, or anyone looking for a slower paced, nourishing and relaxing class.  We'll focus on basic hatha yoga poses, building strength, flexibility and balance, and also incorporate some slow flowing sequences.  Recharge, restore and relax.  1 hour and 15 minutes.

Open Level 40+

Our Wednesday 6pm Open Level class is especially inviting to students over age 40, although all ages are welcome.  Kathryn is a long time practitioner of yoga, and brings many years of life experience to her classes.  Our bodies may not want to do everything we did in our 20's, but we continue to grow as humans.  The later years can be the most joyful, exceptional and rewarding.  

Clear the mind, strengthen the body, improve balance & flexibility.  Instructive classes focusing on a variety of hatha yoga poses, energizing flows, breath and relaxation techniques.  Open to all levels, including beginners.  Classes are geared toward the level of the individual students.  Holistic and enriching classes lasting 1hr and 15min. 

Mindful Flow

In mindful movement, one can connect to a deep expanse of self-love, creativity, and strength.  In this class you will explore all three as mindfulness is set at the forefront of this slow vinyasa style class.  De-stress and release tension with opening mediation and an extended warm-up period, deepen your mind/body connection as you explore creative transitions interwoven through a slow building, thoughtful vinyasa flow.  Learn to draw deeper into your connection with the moment and all that is around you as you use your senses to help your body lift, lengthen, and bend.  We may also explore and develop some challenging poses.  Rejuvenate with a cool down of restorative poses. This class is open to all levels, although some previous yoga experience is highly encouraged.

Hatha Flow

Hatha Flow is a lovely combination of Hatha yoga and moving, flowing yoga sequences.  Portions of the class focus on alignment, and holding poses for several breaths.  This builds strength, balance and flexibility.  It also helps develop focus, deepen inner awareness & release stress. Classes also incorporate flowing sequences where we move from pose to pose, coordinating movement with breath.  Classes end with deep relaxation. This class may also include exploring and developing more challenging poses.  Certified Yoga Instructor Bethany also has a BA degree in Dance.  She brings a graceful, creative, and energizing feel to her classes.  Gain a rich experience of yoga with this 1 hr and 15 min class. 

Vinyasa Flow

Vinyasa yoga moves at a quicker pace, with one yoga pose flowing to the next, in a sequence coordinated with the breath.  Certified Yoga Instructor Bethany also has a BA in Dance, and brings a graceful, creative and energizing flow to her classes.  This is an intermediate level class, best suited to those with prior yoga experience.  This class may also include exploring and developing some more challenging poses.  Gain a rich experience of yoga with this 1 hr and 15 min class.

Meditation - 1st Wednesdays

Discover the Bliss of the Natural State.  Meditation meets the first Wednesday of the month.  Meditation has been proven to reduce stress effects, increase brain power and help gain a higher perspective of life.  Quieting the mind often leads to opening the heart and connecting with the inner self.  Learn to connect to a sense of peace, deeper awareness and inner joy.  The first Wednesday of the month features reclined, guided meditation for a deeply relaxing experience.  Other weeks, classes are generally seated, and involve various yogic meditation practices such as chanting, mantra and guided and silent meditations. Yogic readings, and talks may be included.  We finish up with questions and discussion.  See our Meditation page for more info.  $5-$10 donation suggested and appreciated.  Drop-ins & beginners are welcome.

108 Sun Salutations (once a month)

108 Sun Salutations Class (Surya Namaskar) is a powerful, invigorating and energizing experience.  For those who enjoy Vinyasa Flow, this class is a great way to stay fit and can also be used as a moving meditation.  This set of 12 energetic yoga asanas, repeated 108 times will stretch and strengthen the whole body & provide a cardiovascular workout as we move in harmony with each breath.  Some yoga experience & familiarity with Sun Salutations is necessary.  Generally meets the first Sunday of the month at 8:30am.  Please see our calendar for class meeting dates.  Drop in to this class anytime.
